EDLD 5317-Publication Rough Draft

The Impact of Content-Specific
Professional Learning on CTE Instruction

For this assignment, I developed a draft article designed for potential publication. The focus was on how technology should enhance learning, grounded in the ideas of classic and contemporary thought leaders. I reflected on my own instructional experiences with collaboration, discussing what worked well, what were the challenges, and how collaboration within CTE could be improved.

I framed my article around specific cognitive processes, specifically teamwork, to show how learning can be supported and strengthened when professional learning is specific and ongoing, while also implementing technology to be used purposefully in collaboration. This assignment strengthened my ability to write professionally, connect theory to practice, and communicate a clear vision I have for professional learning in CTE. It also prepared me to share my voice as a thought leader and contribute to professional communities beyond the classroom.

I shared my outline and rough draft with my peer feedback group, and my overall average score based on our rubric was 43/50. Collaboration and peer feedback were essential parts of this assignment because they allowed me to view my draft through multiple perspectives. My peers helped me identify areas that needed clarification, suggested stronger ways to connect theory to practice, and confirmed where my ideas were clear and impactful. This process not only improved the quality of my writing but also mirrored the real-world experience of preparing work for publication, where feedback and revision are part of professional growth.
